The Porsche Boxster S

The Boxster S is due out in April 1999
with a $9,000 increase in price. It will have no body modifications, with
the exception of the new center intake in the front spoiler. So far, the
S is also sporting twin tailpipes as opposed to the big single one of the
regular Boxster. Of course, it has bigger and wider wheels, and stiffer
suspension. Probably upgraded brakes, too. It'll have a 3.0 litre engine,
with 250 bhp.
160 mph top speed, 0-60 in the mid
fives. As fast round Weissach as a 993. It still may be offered with the
sequential 6-speed computer controlled gearbox, with no clutch, alongside
the conventional Tiptronic. (As seen in the GT1)
